Camp: The Ultimate Internship FILLING

Log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Limited Capacity filling up

Are you finding harder to attract quality new staff? Or perhaps you’re losing your best counselors to corporate internships - you might hear about them having to get a ‘real’ job? Our young people are feeling immense pressure to build robust resumes and strive for college places or jobs - from parents, from educational institutions and from society. How can camps compete?

This session will focus on the opportunity camps have to change their narrative when it comes to hiring, managing and supporting staff. Camp is a uniquely experiential environment with so many opportunities to grow, develop and build skills (skills not likely to be developed getting coffee for a corporate executive for seven weeks!) So how do we communicate this value to our staff, and harness the power of the summer camp experience for them?

I’ll talk about the successful methods we’ve employed for attracting and retaining staff, and for creating a culture of awareness around the impact a summer at camp can have. Our staff are able to sell themselves to colleges and employers using vocabulary and real experiences that they are unable to get anywhere else - we just have to help them!

Join me and learn how to position yourself to new and returning staff as more than just an escape from "the real world" but as preparation for it: the Ultimate Internship!
